Production Manager

Production Manager : Description & Requirements
Generally responsible for entire plant operation, including personnel, quality control, assembly, maintenance, safety, compliance, shipping and receiving. Directs and coordinates activities of all departments through Production Team Leaders. Manger is accountable for results in terms of overall operation costs and budgets, procedures, quantity, quality, operations and personnel. Sets-up standards of performance, measures progress, sets-up and controls workflow, determines personnel needs, analyzes problems, and takes corrective action.
Primary Responsibilities:
Planning/Production Flow Monitoring
- Daily monitoring of plant to ensure proper production flow is maintained.
- Analyze workloads and move personnel to bottlenecks to ensure the best possible production flow.
- Plan ahead for the best production flow, work with Production Team Leaders to insure materials are ordered and in place in advance and the best product mix is incorporated into daily production.
- Monitor and maintain greater than 95% on time shipment percentages and 100% on Criticals.
- Assist in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing. Participate and coordinate 5S events, process improvement, cost reductions, and multi-departmental Kanban inventory system.
- Identify areas of opportunity and initiates projects with achievable goals, such as, Kaizen events.
- Oversee the maintenance of the facility and equipment, to ensure everything is in good safe working order. Suggest new tools/equipment to improve production flow.
Worker/Staff Management
- Ensure proper staffing needs are maintained to meet current capacity requirements and ensure goals are met to uphold plant labor percentage.
- Manage all Production Team Leaders assigned to plant to ensure all departments are managed correctly, policies and procedures are followed and continuous improvement is the focus of every department. Develop, set up, monitor and enforce operating procedures for each department.
- Make sure all Production Team Leaders are proficient at all jobs within assigned areas.
- Motivate plant work force to ensure positive morale and good work habits.
- Ensure effective employee relations. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution and employee coaching/development. Work closely with Human Resources to develop staffing and retention plans and goals.
- Responsible for proper plant shutdowns, daily, weekly, vacations and holidays.
Quality
- Continuously monitor plant quality issues and resolve with the assistance of engineering and quality, provide thorough training and documentation.
- Always strive to meet and improve on company rework standards of 1%, monitor, look for trends and take corrective action on rework to improve goals.
Meetings
- Hold daily production meetings to go over previous day’s results, current day’s production goals and future goals.
- Hold a weekly plant meeting to go over previous week’s results and accomplishments. Take this opportunity to welcome new employees, make announcements, go over vacation schedules, etc.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
- Exposure in Implementing Lean transformation in manufacturing environments is desirable
- 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment required

Production Team Leader : Description & Requirements
Responsible for delegating and assigning work to employees in specified departments within the manufacturing area while ensuring the employees are assigned tasks which they are capable to complete efficiently. They are required to manage the material flow, parts, tools and repairs related to manufacturing. They will be expected to work with the Production Manager to improve the manufacturing area effectiveness and cost. Production Team Leader is responsible for maintaining quality, safety, production and morale of the employees. Coaches and motivates employees to achieve a higher level of performance and quality while managing employee’s performance, attendance, and personnel issues.
Primary Responsibilities:
Planning/Production Flow Monitoring
- Arrive 15 minutes before shift start up to ensure plant is ready for daily production.
- Continuously monitor product mix, bottlenecks and make any personnel adjustments needed to ensure quality and production standards are met.
- Identify problems and initiate or recommend corrective action.
- Monitor material needs and communicate short and long term shortages to Production Manager through prioritized list. Plan ahead to maintain proper stock levels.
- Ensure the organization, proper handling, rotation and storage of all materials is maintained.
- All quality information and issues are monitored and reviewed with all applicable quality personnel. Implement a corrective action plan to insure continuous improvement of reworks.
- Oversee the maintenance of the department and equipment, to ensure everything is in good safe working condition. Report any potential safety concerns with Production Manager and Human Resources.

- Communicate with department employees closely to ensure material, tools and training are all in place to enable team members to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Fosters a team environment by promoting open channels of communication.
- Ensure effective employee relations. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution and employee coaching/development.
- Coach and counsel employees; document/discuss performance reviews on each individual employee.
- Perform accident investigations when necessary.
- Tracks attendance and manage time keeping for assigned employees.
- Approve time/vacations/occurrences.
- Document any employee or departmental issues and communicate regularly with HR.
- Other duties as assigned by superintendent and VP of Manufacturing and/or Production Manager.

The Stockroom Attendant is responsible for receiving, maintaining, and distributing inventory supply of purchased raw materials
Primary Responsibilities:
- Arrive at workstation on time.
- Make sure work area is clean and safety standards are followed.
- Receive and inspect purchased raw materials through Intuitive ERP System.
- Properly identify and label all materials.
- Store materials in an organized and safe manner.
- Ensure accurate inventory counts for main supply of purchased raw materials.
- Satisfy pick lists and requisitions promptly and accurately.
- Perform appropriate transactions for material movements in Intuitive ERP System.
- Detect defective material and notify proper personnel of any issues.
