Seating Development Manager : Description & Requirements

MATERIAL PROGRAMS

  • First line of contact with Fabric and Leather Alliance Partners.
  • Evaluate cost of new fabrics / new suppliers for grading into the line for specific orders of new programs.
  • Maintain Graded in List – Coordinate with Sales / Marketing for updates to software programs.
  • Communicate all new increases in fabrics to Seating Team, Purchasing, and Marketing for adjustments and possible Grade change.
  • Evaluating COM and COL materials for usability on DARRAN products.
  • Ensure correct BOM setup of all new products, fabrics and options.
  • Assist Customer Service with seating questions regarding yardage requests, combination fabrics, coordination and custom items.
  • Ensure Order Entry and Customer Service are properly trained on new products and entry processes - assist with proofing orders for correctness as needed.

MANAGE OEM SUPPLIERS

  • Visit OEM suppliers (1) once per month minimum.
  • Develop better order processes that create seamless flow thereby improving OTS and accuracy.
  • Tour plants to maintain relationship with production staff at suppliers.
  • Review QC audits and discuss any issues found.
  • Monitor OEM process for OTS projections versus actual as tracked by Purchasing.
  • Consult with OEM supplier for improving ship times, etc.
  • Upon delivery by OEM vendor of product for large orders and / or random quality check, double check the order and fabrics.
  • Document quality audit on standard report and copy to DARRAN and Vendor Management.
  • Travel to OEM supplier to observe quality on orders noted by Sales, to evaluate OEM processes to ensure they are working properly with DARRAN processes and to evaluate new chair designs.
  • Coordinate with designers and OEM suppliers to ensure faster development time and confirm decisions are in good interest of DARRAN.
  • Establish back up supplier / OEM alternatives to ensure longevity of seating program in case switch is needed.

COST CONTROL

  • Monitor chair quantities and coordinate with OEM vendor to improve fabric yields.
  • Monitor chair quantities and identify shipping savings with “Full Load” coordination with casegoods.
  • Ship direct from OEM vendor to customer.
  • Make sure rate is accurate for product and best rate available.
  • Run costing audits off material order cost to test formulas.

PRODUCT TESTING

  • Coordinate with OEM supplier and testing facility to ensure all new products are tested for BIFMA and CAL133, if required for design.
  • Search for low cost facilities that are approved.
  • Assist customer if specific CAL133 testing required.
  • Maintain proper database for all certificates.

Industrial / General Maintenance

Industrial / General Maintenance : Description & Requirements

This is a full time position for a highly motivated candidate who will join our current maintenance team.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Will be responsible for overall general maintenance.
  • Maintain buildings and grounds that includes electrical, plumbing, welding metal work, security systems, and HVAC.
  • Maintain and repair equipment and buildings to keep production activities safe and efficient with minimal down time.
  • Maintain equipment used in furniture production that includes; air compressors, CNC equipment, spray equipment, conveyors, ovens, pneumatic tools, dust collectors, saws, sander, and truck maintenance.

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Electrical license a plus, but not required.
  • Must have extensive electrical background.
  • Minimum 7 years Industrial Maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in maintaining OSHA/EPA compliant facilities.
  • Computer experience in maintenance research.
  • Maintenance record keeping and TPM.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, industrial compressors, and plumbing maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Woodworking machine knowledge a plus.
