DARRAN also introduces Area Lounge and Posh Executive seating, designed by John Stafford / Chris Carter Designs, LLC.
The Business Journal published the first-ever Women-Owned Businesses list. DARRAN is the second-largest Woman-Owned company in the greater triad area.
2011
DARRAN receives certification as a Women's Business Enterprise from the WBENC.
DARRAN offers FSC products and achieves FSC CoC certification.
At NeoCon 2011, DARRAN introduces Covet, the company's first executive seating line. Covet is designed by Michael Shields.
2010
DARRAN converts its finishing systems over to Urethane and introduces ENVI-UT (Environmental Urethane Technology). ENVI-UT has increased finish durability and finish clarity, while protecting the environment by reducing offgassing.
ENVI-UT has enabled DARRAN to have all products MAS Certified Green. MAS certified products meet strict ANSI/BIFMA standards for indoor air quality and assist with building LEED credits.
2008
DARRAN becomes a woman-owned business, annoucing the following corporate changes:

Randy Hollingsworth - Vice President / Founder- DARRAN introduces a wood guest chair program and an all-laminate collection for the first time in the company's history.

DARRAN introduces the Office Park Brand to offer a more value driven product to compete against imports.
DARRAN uses new technology versus imported components to reach the lower price points.
The company now employs over 220 people and has over 350,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space.
2000
DARRAN becomes the first contract furniture company to introduce an Anti-Microbial Finish.
1998
The Hollingsworth family takes sole ownership of DARRAN and the second generation, Jeff and Jennifer Hollingsworth, are heavily involved in the sales and marketing departments.
1996-1997
DARRAN becomes one of the first wood casegood companies to move from a catalyzed-lacquer finish to a high-tech conversion varnish (Rel-Viron).
DARRAN's goal becomes improving durability, offering a finish that was UL-certified fire-retardant, and using a finish that was better for the environment and its employees (39% reduction in HAPS and a 40% reduction in VOCs).
1980s
DARRAN becomes one of the first U.S. manufacturers to begin using European dowel-constructed drawers instead of the traditional dove-tail construction. DARRAN put their drawers on a lifetime guarantee after making this switch.

DARRAN is founded by Randy Hollingsworth and Darrell Stout.
The company name is derived from their names: Darrell (Dar) and Randy (Ran).
Located in High Point NC, DARRAN begins with 12 people in a facility of 15,000 square feet.
DARRAN single shift capacity grows to over 200 pieces of furniture per day.
DARRAN becomes one of the first wood casegood companies to offer built-to-order furniture with numerous options.
