We’ve reached our goal of committing $200,000 for COVID-19 relief!
Just as everyone else, we have seen the impacts of COVID-19 on the public and healthcare workers both in the U.S. and worldwide, and have decided to commit $200,000 for COVID-19 relief to the Americares nonprofit organization. As the COVID-19 situation continues to progress throughout the globe, DARRAN's state of business and actions have been to protect the safety of our employees and meet commitments to our customers. DARRAN is manufacturing products and the offices are working on normal operating schedules as the company is designated as an Essential Business.
Since the outset of the pandemic, Americares response priority has been health worker safety and their ability to continue to care for those who need care. To-date, they have sent more than 550 shipments with over 155 tons of personal protective equipment (PPE) and infection prevention and control (IPC) supplies to support partners and frontline health workers in 49 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, 3 U.S. territories, and 13 countries. In addition to the 550 shipments, they have procured PPE and IPC supplies locally in countries including Colombia, Liberia, Haiti and India where their Mumbai-based team has distributed more than 950,000 masks and 155,000 units of hand sanitizer.
How Donations are Being Used
Mending Kids, Glendale, CA
Isabelle Fox, Executive Director
“We were immensely grateful to receive the nearly 700-lb Americares shipment of supplies that were delivered to the Los Angeles Department of Health Services branch operating on Skid Row. The coordinator practically cried when she saw the cases of disinfecting wipes that were part of the shipment as well as the masks and other protective and sanitary supplies.”
Community Advanced Practice Nurses, Atlanta, GA
Nurse Practitioner, Jerrica Kallio with a patient
“With a donation of protective masks from Americares, staff did not have to worry about safety. Having those masks allows us to continue the work that we were already doing. The masks really make a difference in our level of exposure and also our ability to decrease exposure for patients.”
Neighborhood Clinic, Tacoma, WA
Josefia Clarivel Mazeuta, Clinic Coordinator
“You rescued us because before, we didn’t have any shields, we didn’t have any goggles. I remember when your shipment came in, I had two isolation gowns left, and I was freaking out! I am so grateful. I’m going to be able to tell my nurses we don’t have to worry. We are going to have enough gowns. We are going to have enough masks. We are going to be able to stay open. We’re going to be able to serve all our underserved patients who are really afraid.”
