We take pride in declaring that 90% of our components are produced in the USA, and we maintain a steadfast commitment to crafting 100% of our furniture in High Point, North Carolina.

Our History
1977
DARRAN is founded by Randy Hollingsworth and Darrell Stout. The company name is derived from their names: Darrell (Dar) and Randy (Ran).
Located in High Point NC, DARRAN began with 12 people in a facility of 15,000 square feet. DARRAN is one of the first wood casegood companies to offer built-to-order furniture offering mass customization to its customers.
1980s
DARRAN is one of the first U.S. manufacturers to begin using European dowel-constructed drawers instead of the traditional dove-tail construction. DARRAN put their drawers on a lifetime guarantee after making this switch.

The Hollingsworth family takes sole ownership of DARRAN.
2003
DARRAN introduces the Central Park product line which is the best seller to this day, offering a high design, value product to customers.
The company now has over 350,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space.
2008
DARRAN becomes a woman-owned business, announcing the following corporate changes:
Jennifer Hollingsworth – President
Vicki Hollingsworth – Vice President of Human Relations
Jeff Hollingsworth – Vice President of Sales
Randy Hollingsworth – Vice President / Founder
DARRAN expands beyond casegoods and conferencing offering seating for the first time in company history. DARRAN introduces 4 wood guest chair products and has since expanded in this product sector into full upholstered lounge and executive seating.
2010
DARRAN converts its finishing systems over to Urethane and introduces ENVI-CT (Environmental Urethane Technology). ENVI-CT increased finish durability and clarity, while protecting the environment by reducing off-gassing. All products are now SCS Indoor Air Quality certified.
2011
DARRAN receives National Certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise from the WBENC.
2015
DARRAN is one of the first Contract manufacturers to introduce Height adjustable desks designed for Executives allowing the option of a standing workstation with refined wood craftsmanship and hidden lifts when at seated height. DARRAN is the first to offer Height adjustable L Workstations that are designed this same way.
2017
DARRAN turns 40. Providing quality products and service in the contract furniture industry. We have grown to three manufacturing facilities that produce more than 40 furniture collections in North Carolina.
2020
DARRAN wins Best of Competition and NeoCon Gold at the Best of NeoCon Competition for the Honey Systems line. Honey workspace furniture addresses the needs of individual users, their varied work styles, privacy, and well-being. A solution to the open office noise and lack of privacy, offering 6ft of distance, yet not the enclosed cubicle of the 80’s and 90’s.
2022
DARRAN opens a Seating plant, sewing and upholstering products in house. DARRAN increases its Product Development Department by 4 employees.
2023
DARRAN introduces 9 products to market, winning an Innovation award for the Dove Collection with its sustainable and considered PET Shell and Silver for the Dove and Susu product lines. DARRAN receives Best of Year Honoree for 5 of the new products introduced in 2023.
