New York designer Brad Ascalon created the Limousine sofa for furniture manufacturer DARRAN, which is wrapped in a backrest that mechanically rises up to create a divider.

The raised position “provides instant acoustic and visual privacy, signaling a polite ‘do not disturb’ cue to the surrounding environment,” while the sofa itself features a minimal, clean profile.

Limousine was designed around a simple workplace need: the ability to move between connection and focus without leaving your seat.

At the center of the collection is a height-adjustable screen that transforms the sofa from an open lounge setting into a more private environment. The feature creates a visual and acoustic barrier that supports focused work, small meetings, and moments of concentration within shared spaces.
